De la Toison au Tricot n° 186 : 2 Petits Projets Alright ! I just finished the buttonholes on my two cowls ! The first one, knit in pink-beige-brown wool, has three coconut shell buttons. This is a rather voluminous cowl with a wide rolled collar. Ça y est ! Je viens...
Prêt à choisir les boutons ! I was so pleased with my latest little knitting project that I decided to make two ! So now, I need to pick out buttons. Alors,...
Viens de commencer … I just cast on a new little project with the yarn that I spun last week. The seed stitch produces a beautiful texture and highlights...
I’ve already spun a few bobbins of this lovely pink-beige-brown blend. But now I’m faced with a bit of a dilemma ! What am I going to ply this yarn with ? Obviously, you can always ply two identical yarns together. But...
Faire le point & relance ! It’s hard to believe that it’s already 2021. 2020 was a rather difficult year for the Spinning Shepherd : between a lockdown due to the pandemic, a few minor health problems, and some big computer problems ! In other words, I don’t need...
Fini et prêt à porter ! Once again I used the pattern Lazy Katy by Birgit Freyer. This little shawl is so light-weight and so soft … an absolute joy to wear !

Welcome
Hello ! My name is Diane and I live in Normandy (France).
I'm an avid spinner and knitter, and the proud owner of a small flock of Ouessant sheep.
Come and join me as I share my hand spun yarns, woolly tales and sheepish musings !

Bonjour !
Just getting started on these lovely slippers.
The «Little Farm Strikketøfler» is designed by Patricia at @p4chen for the Knitography Farm Holiday Charity MAL.
I'm using Gammelserie in Natural and Copper Red.
So far so good!

As always, I’m looking for ways to not only use my woven bands but also to use my loom waste.
I’ve just finished wet felting 4 pairs of mittens, all with Ouessant wool: 3 are trimmed with woven bands, a bit of snørd, and mini-pompoms; the 4th pair of mittens are decorated with cut up bits of loom waste that has been felted into the mittens and multi-colored pompoms.
I’m quite pleased with the results.
These should make some lovely Christmas presents.
