Il neige !

When I see the fields covered in snow, I experience a very soothing sensation. Everything is peaceful and quiet : not the least sound of “civilization”. You can hear the snow falling, a twig breaking, and the birds looking for something to eat.

From the kitchen window, I can see them enjoying their winter’s feast!

First there’s a European Nuthatch ….

Quand je vois les champs ensevelis sous la neige, j’éprouve une sensation apaisante. Tout est calme : pas le moindre bruit de “civilisation”. On entend la neige qui tombe, une branche qui craque, et les petits oiseaux qui cherchent à manger.

De la fenêtre de la cuisine, je vois un véritable festin d’oiseaux !

D’abord, une sittelle …

…followed by a Blue Tit …

…suivie par une mésange bleue ….

Without counting all the others, too shy to be photographed : Wren, Robin, Song Thrush, and Great Tit.

And what do we have here?

One would say that it’s a lamb with a frosted nose !

Sans compter ceux qui sont trop timides pour se laisser photographier : un troglodyte, un rouge-gorge, une grive musicienne, et une mésange charbonnière.

Et qu’est-ce que c’est que ça ?

On dirait une petite agnelle avec le bout du nez givré !
