Fini et prêt à porter !
Finally, my shawl is finished and ready to wear !
Ça y est. Mon petit châle est fini et prêt à porter !
For this little project I used the pattern Lazy Katy by Birgit Freyer.
I’ve really wanted to make this shawl for some time now. And it really is a wonderful pattern. I love the asymetrical shape. And to top it off, it’s an easy knit.
If you want to make this shawl, I would suggest that you have a go at the mini version first, which you can use as a swatch. This mini tutorial by shyannlind really is essential reading for anyone wanting to make this shawl. Also, note that I made the larger version of this shawl. I knit the body until I had 189 stitches, then I did row 101. Next I picked up 123 stitches along the edge. So I ended up with a total of 373 stitches : 249 on bottom edge + 1 corner stitch + 123 stitches along the side.
Keep in mind that the pattern calls for a crochet bind-off. This really isn’t difficult. But do check out the youtube video by Cheryl Sterling, which explains exactly how to bind-off this shawl.
I’m really quite pleased with this little shawl. And I’m sure that I’ll be making another one of these in the future.

Ça fait un moment que j’ai voulu réaliser ce châle. Je le trouve vraiment chouette comme modèle. J’adore sa forme asymétrique. En plus, il est vraiment facile à réaliser.
Si vous voulez réaliser ce châle, je vous conseille de faire la version mini comme échantillon.

D’autre part, il faut noter que j’ai agrandi la taille.
J’ai tricoté le corps du châle jusqu’à 189 mailles, puis j’ai fait le rang 101. Ensuite, j’ai relevé 123 mailles sur le bord. Pour finir avec 373 mailles en tout : 249 mailles + la maille qui fait l’angle + 123 mailles.
Attention, pour rabattre les mailles on fait du crochet. La vidéo de Cheryl Sterling est à voir.

Finalement, je suis très contente avec ce petit châle. Je pense bien vouloir en faire un autre !
