I’ve been asked ” How do I adapt the shaft of the bobbin winder to fit my bobbins.”
La question se posait, « Comment adapter la tige du bobinoir suédois au diamètre du trou des bobines qui est bien plus large ? »
It’s true that the shaft of the Mattson Mora bobbin winder is quite a bit smaller than the hole of my antique wooden bobbins.
Effectivement, la tige du dévidoir Mattson Mora est bien plus petite que le trou des petites bobines anciennes que j’ai trouvées.
But this little problem is easily solved : the solution is quite simple ! To adapt the Mattson Mora to my bobbins, I used a bit of thin foam. This is the type of foam that is often used in packing. Mine measured 3cm x 8cm or just over 3″ x 1″.
Pourtant, la solution est bien simple ! Pour adapter le dévidoir Mattson Mora à mes bobines, j’ai utilisé un petit morceau de polystyrène très mince ; c’est du type souvent utilisé pour l’emballage. Le mien mesure 3cm x 8cm.
Now you will need to wrap this little piece of foam around the shaft and tape it. Make sure that you’ve got the right thickness : It only takes one or two wraps.
Il faut enrouler le morceau autour de la tige et le fixer avec un peu de scotch. Vérifier l’épaisseur : il ne faut que quelques tours.
This additional thickness is all that is needed to make sure that the bobbine fits snuggly on the shaft of the bobbin winder.
Cette épaisseur supplémentaire assure que la bobine tienne bien sur la tige.
It’s a very simple solution … and it works beautifully !
