And normally I’m pretty careful about this.
I think that I did it when I ripped back a few rows to fix a mistake.
But this time when I fixed one mistake, I ended up introducing another !
Essentially it’s a simple question of tension …
But you really need to pay attention !
When you knit with two colors at the same time, one color is held in the left hand and the other color in the right hand. Keep in mind that the tension is never the same in the two hands. Generally speaking, the small difference in tension between the left and right hand is not seen. But you have to be careful not to switch colors between hands.
Essentially, when I started this beret, I held the black wool in my left hand. After having corrected my previous mistake, I must have switched colors without thinking.
You can see that the stitches that are made with yarn held in my left hand are slightly tighter than the stitches made with yarn held in my right hand, which are slightly looser. Essentially, the color held in the right hand seems to stand out a bit more than the color held in the left hand because these stitches are a bit looser.
I’ve decided not to rip back.
I’m hoping that after washing and blocking, this little problem won’t be too easily seen.

Je pense que ça s’est produit quand j’ai défait
quelques rangs pour corriger une erreur.
Pourtant en corrigeant une erreur, j’en ai introduit une autre !
Effectivement c’est une banale question de tension ….
Mais il faut toujours faire gaffe !
Quand on travaille avec deux couleurs à la fois, une couleur est tenue dans la main gauche, l’autre dans la main droite. Toutefois, la tension n’est pas tout à fait pareille dans les deux mains. Normalement, cette petite différence de tension entre la main gauche et la main droite ne se voit pas. Mais attention ! Il faut faire gaffe de ne jamais inverser les couleurs !
Effectivement, quand j’ai commencé ce béret, je tenais la laine noire dans la main gauche ; après avoir corrigé mon erreur de tricot, j’ai inversé les couleurs, sans en être consciente.
On voit bien qu’avec la main gauche la tension est légèrement plus serrée : avec la main droite elle est légèrement plus lâche. Bref, la couleur tenue dans la main droite semble être mise en relief par rapport à la couleur tenue dans la main gauche car ces mailles sont légèrement moins serrées.
J’ai décidé de ne pas le défaire.
J’espère qu’après lavage et mise en forme ce petit problème va pas trop se voir .
On verra bien.
